Doing it for ourselves

Our strategy:

In order to make feminine voice be heard we must work together with all different groups and ages of women in Bedouin community. We also need to work with mothers and children together.

Strengthening young mothers:

Many young mothers are having a hard time dealing with issues concerning child raising and education. Tools must be given to young mothers which will help them deal with problems and help their social status.

Working with mothers and teenage girls:

We wish to build connections between mothers and daughters and between both of them and their cultural heritage. This will be done through experience in traditional crafts. We believe that through the creative work the girl will build stronger bonds with her mother, and find ways to express her voice in family and community life.

Professional Training for women:

In order to meet w omen's need to find and keep a suitable job. In order to keep they're family life and functions, Bedouin women require flexible hours and a work place close to home.

Reaching mothers through their children:

Operating educational and social enrichment for school-children. The children typically don’t have any kind of after school activity and social connections outside school are rare. The project is meant to create stronger ties between children and a sense of community. Through after school activities children will become an active and influential part of their community. Once a child becomes part of a framework the mothers will be involved as well.

Involving the fathers:

Fathers from families participating in the program will also be invited to support and encourage the women to take part in the project.

The association has a building in Segev Shalom, recently renovated.
